Privacy Policy—the basics
Your privacy is important to us, so we’ve developed this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information. We collect personal information when you use our website(s), mobile apps, and other online and offline products, services, and experiences (collectively, the “Services”). Please take a moment to read through this Policy in its entirety.
If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints regarding this Privacy Policy or how we use your personal information, please contact us at admin@liveproxima.org.
What Personal Information We Collect and How We Collect It
We collect personal information that you provide directly to us:
- Contact information. If you sign up to receive our newsletter, emails, or text messages, we will collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and any other information needed to contact you regarding the Services.
- Payment and donor information. Donations are completed through an embedded Virtuous Giving form with Stripe payment processing. Virtuous receives the information entered into the giving form, while Stripe processes payment credentials. The Proxima website does not receive or store full payment credentials.
- Survey information. You may provide other personal information when you fill out a form, respond to surveys or questionnaires, provide feedback, participate in promotions, or use other features of the Services.
How We Use Your Personal Information

How We Share Your Personal Information
We may share your personal information:
- With vendors, consultants, and service providers who process personal information on our behalf, including providers of analytics, research, marketing, and financial services.
- In connection with, or during negotiations of, a merger, sale of assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our organization.
- When legally required, including to comply with a court order or law-enforcement request, when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is required by law.
If you share your mobile number or opt in to text messages, we use that information only for requested updates, reminders, and messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, text-message consent information, or related personal data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Mobile information is shared only as needed to provide the Services, such as through messaging-platform providers.
Your Marketing Choices
We may send marketing messages when you request information, buy goods or services, enter a promotion, or subscribe. If you opt out, we may still send non-promotional messages. We will ask for consent before sharing personal information with a third party for direct marketing.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting admin@liveproxima.org. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing performed before withdrawal.
Retention of Your Data and Deletion
Personal information will not be kept longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. We consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the risks of unauthorized use or disclosure, why it is needed, and applicable legal requirements.
We may retain information when necessary to comply with legal obligations, file or defend legal claims, or preserve evidence.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyze site traffic, and understand usage patterns. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
